The Costa del Sol is in for a treat this December. The 19th wines arrive on Spanish soil this winter, bringing the unique craftsmanship of South African wine producers Ernst Gouws & Co. to the golfers of Southern Spain.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect. As the blistering summer sun eases, and the package holiday makers return home, golfers flock from around the world to enjoy the mild winter climate across the Málaga province.

Days are still marked by bright blue skies, yet temperatures remain pleasant and comfortable, perfect for days spent on the course. What better way to partner this season than with wines that have been developed, especially with the golfer in mind.

Costa del Golf
With almost 100 years of golfing history and over 70 internationally acclaimed courses, it’s no wonder that this stretch of the Spanish riviera has earnt the moniker of the ‘Costa del Golf.’

Home to the largest concentration of golf courses in Europe and attracting both amateur players and leading championship tours, this destination is well established as a golf lovers mecca.

It’s not only the proliferation of golf courses that appeals to golfers. There are over 150 km of golf tour providers, golf hotels, shops, club rental operators and coaches catering for the needs of the golf tourist. It attracts thousands of players each year from all over Europe, to North America, Asia and South Africa.

With a reputation as one of the leading destinations for discerning golfers, we thought it was high time that players get to indulge in champion wines to match their champion efforts.

We are delighted to be introducing our collection of The 19th wines to this prestigious golfing region this winter.

The 19th Collection
Whilst Spain is well recognised as one of the ‘old world’ wine producing regions, we believe that the international golfing community will truly appreciate a fresh modern take on winemaking, from South Africa’s premier wine growing region.

Thanks to the unique growing conditions found in Stellenbosch in the Western Cape we have developed an exciting new selection of wines that aren’t so easily found amongst the native wines of Spain.

The very special combination of warm soils, coupled with cool wet winters, hot dry summers and a cool Atlantic breeze makes the flavour profile of Stellenbosch grapes distinct to any other wine growing region. This December we are introducing our 4 signature wines to the Costa del Sol; Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot and the highly lauded Pinotage and look forward to tantalising your tastebuds after a rewarding day on the course.
